Today, Nov 10, 2012, the Body Oars engineers behind the upcoming Efficiency Scores for exercise methods and workout machines, told the internet publishing giant examiner.com, that almost all modern cardio and muscle exercise methods and machines are ?kid?s stuff?.
They explained, ?Engineering sciences show why most modern exercise machines cause far more skeletal compression than muscular tension, which is only beneficial for the long term skeletal health and fitness of children, not healthy adults.?
Their method of tracing exercise forces through the human body shows how the softer, still growing skeletons of children, can heal stronger after being correctly overworked.
Once growing bones harden into adulthood, those high compression exercises start wearing down their joints and spinal discs. This starts reducing the adult ability to continue doing the same high compression exercise that build them up as a child.
It also ends their ability to keep their muscles in top condition by still overloading their joints and spinal discs, just to get at their muscles.
The engineers also told Examiner that powerful exercise will still strengthen healthy muscles and hearts at any age, proving that adults need deep muscle exertion exercise for better health and fitness.
These adult only Efficiency Scores, are just the percentage of all External Motion Resistance Energy, generated by any exercise method or machine, that only opposes (fights) muscle contractions.
The higher the score, the harder adult muscles are able to exert while doing that exercise. This is because the stress and pain from skeletal compression has been greatly reduced or totally eliminated.
Because the skeleton is barely involved with a score over 90, this method or machine will offer very powerful muscle or cardio exercise for adults or seniors, regardless of many, if not most, balance or skeletal health and fitness issues.
A high score means they will actually be able to exert their muscles far harder while doing the exercise, than is possible for them at any other time.
Because energy tracing confirms that most modern exercise machines force the skeleton to work at least twice as hard as the muscles they target, the older a user becomes, the more painful and damaging modern exercise machines become, thus fully justifying their ?Kid?s Stuff? remark.
The Body Oars devices, that they originally developed Exercise Efficiency Scores to evaluate, have proven to many aging and mobility hampered adults, that exercise machines can be engineered to allow extreme muscle exertion without any more skeletal compression than standing still.
?Because growing skeletons may heal stronger after being slightly overworked, many children may be encouraged, even bribed, to alternate using today?s exercise machines almost every day?, they added to today?s announcements.
For almost a decade, many mainstream media health and fitness organizations have ignored these engineers trying to tell them why they are forcing childish exercises on adults and senior citizens.
Today, they may have rubbed some salt into this wound, by adding that their ?Exercise Efficiency Scores, do not consider the opinions of doctors or fitness experts, as they are calculated by mapping exercise energy through the body, to see where it escapes, what it attacks, what type of force it is, and which directions they flow. These are all things that structural engineers need to determinant.
?It is also more than obvious that adults and seniors still need full power, yet different exercise methods and machines than children, but until we expose this, even the concepts of separate ?Adult Exercise? or ?Exercise Efficiency?, were totally unreported by universities, fitness experts and doctors.?
If you search both terms at Google/news, the only relevant (understanding) responses are the articles or books published about their fitness and exercise innovations, or these Exercise Efficiency Scores.
?The difference between how hard muscles work, compared to how hard the skeleton works, is also an unknown concept, yet it is obviously the universal measure for the adult muscle building efficiency of any physical exercise.?
Separating the kid?s stuff, from what adults really need, may be the main lesson their exercise efficiency scoring project is out to teach the world.
Examiner.com will publish each map and score, as they are posted at FitnessEngineering.org, starting this January.
